Reach truck operator training cost varies according to which part of the country you live in. Reach truck operator certification lasts 3 years, and it can be renewed every 3 years if you choose to do so (costs vary depending on what part of the country you live).
A Reach Truck, also known as a Reach Truck, is a vehicle with an extensible arm that can be used for stacking and unstacking crates or containers. Reach Stackers are now widely used across the world, and they can be found on docksides, factories, warehouses and distribution centres.
The training course provides you with the knowledge you need to operate this type of truck safely and legally. What will I learn? You will learn how to correctly operate Reach Stacker Trucks; there is no formal theoretical examination, but you will sit exams which cover the various aspects of Reach Stackers.
It usually takes about two days (half a day per day) before you start operating vehicles without supervision. Some companies offer refresher courses every few years or so if required. 
Reach Trucks are designed for the loading and unloading of bulk materials, such as wood chips, coal, steel slabs and pellets.
They also have an on-board crane or winch that can be used for lifting loads into the truck’s hopper or loading bay.
The Course is not only about driving but it is also about operating the Reach Truck. You need to know how your Reach Truck works and how it operates before you start using it.
Refresher Reach Truck Operator Training center
A refresher course is for those who have already completed the Reach Truck Operator Training but would like a refresher before applying for a new licence.
The course covers the following topics:
Basic Controls, Driving Techniques, Loading and Unloading the Vehicle, Hanging and Unhanging Containers and Pins, Loading at Terminal and Perishable Goods Loading Techniques.
The cost of the certificate is R1,000 for two days of on-site training and two days of off-site training.
Reach Truck Operator Training certification
The Novice course content is designed for individuals who have little or no experience operating a Reach Truck. The Operator Training certification allows you to operate a Truck without supervision and within the limits of your certificate.
The Training cost ranges from R1,000 to R1,500 depending on the location of the training centre and the duration of training.
The certification process takes about a week with a trainee being able to get licensed for up to 12 months. Trainees are taught how to use all features of the truck including loading and unloading, stacking and de-stacking, using the Reach stacker system.
On-site & Off-site Reach Truck Operator Course
At Reach Truck Operator Training, we specialize in providing Operator training. We are one of the few companies that offer both on-site and off-site Reach Truck Operator training. Our experienced trainers have years of experience and will make sure you feel comfortable at all times.
Operators must demonstrate a range of skills in order to be certified as safe drivers for Reach stackers: parking, driving under load, driving with load and obstacle avoidance.
The Refresher course content is designed for people who are already have Experience with Reach trucks.
The Reach Truck course content is also designed for new drivers or those who want a refresher of the skills.
The content covers loading and unloading of goods, safe driving practices, and operating the Reach truck safely.
